This free Cisco CCNP ENCOR practice test checks your readiness for the Cisco CCNP Enterprise Core (ENCOR 350-401) exam with 50 exam-style questions across all six domains, each with an explanation for every answer choice. Built by Training Camp and drawn from the same v1.2 exam topics we teach in our CCNP Enterprise Boot Camp, which covers ENCOR and the ENARSI concentration exam.
The ENCOR 350-401 exam (exam topics v1.2) is organized into six weighted domains, and this test pulls questions from each: Architecture (15%), Virtualization (10%), Infrastructure (30%), Network Assurance (10%), Security (20%), and Automation and Artificial Intelligence (15%). The real exam has a 120-minute time limit. Cisco does not publish a question count or a passing score for it, and the exam mixes multiple-choice items with drag-and-drop and simulation-style items.
ENCOR is the core exam for the CCNP Enterprise certification, which you complete by adding one concentration exam such as ENARSI 300-410, and it is also the qualifying exam for the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure lab. Passing it on its own earns the Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Core badge. The current v1.2 exam topics have no dedicated wireless domain; the weight moved to SD-WAN, security design, automation and AI-assisted operations. This practice test follows v1.2, and we keep the questions aligned with the current published exam topics.
Take it once without notes to get an honest baseline. Read the explanation for every answer, including the ones you got right, because the incorrect-choice explanations are where the distinctions the exam likes (HSRP versus VRRP preemption, RSPAN versus ERSPAN, TACACS+ versus RADIUS, 201 versus 204 versus 409) get spelled out. Then focus your study on the weakest domain and retake the test in a week. The timer keeps you honest about pace: you get 60 minutes for 50 questions, about 1.2 minutes per item. Cisco does not publish how many questions fit into the real exam's 120 minutes, so treat that pace as a working target rather than a promise. ENCOR items are longer than CCNA items, so practice reading the show output once, deciding what is broken, and committing.

A regional credit union is replacing the network in its 350-user headquarters, a single four-story building with a data room on the second floor. The architect wants full redundancy for the access switches but has been told to keep the switch count and the licensing bill as low as possible. Which campus design meets these requirements?
Correct. In a two-tier (collapsed core) design the core and distribution functions run on one redundant pair of switches, and every access switch dual-homes to that pair. Cisco recommends it for a single building or small campus because it delivers the redundancy of a hierarchical design with fewer devices to buy and license.
A systems team is choosing a virtualization platform for a new branch server. Which statement describes a type 1 hypervisor?
Correct. A type 1 (bare-metal) hypervisor such as VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V or KVM is installed directly on the hardware and schedules the virtual machines itself, which gives it better performance and isolation than a hosted hypervisor. It is the type used in data centers and for virtual network functions.
Two Catalyst 9300 switches in a warehouse are connected by a single link that should carry VLANs 10, 20 and 30. Both ports are at their default switchport configuration. 'show interfaces gi1/0/48 switchport' on each switch shows Administrative Mode: dynamic auto and Operational Mode: static access, and only VLAN 1 traffic crosses the link. Which change makes the link a trunk with the least configuration?
Correct. Dynamic auto is the default on Catalyst 9000 ports: it will become a trunk if asked but never asks. Two auto ports therefore settle as access ports. Setting one side to dynamic desirable makes it send DTP requests, and the auto side agrees, so the link negotiates to an 802.1Q trunk. Setting one side to 'switchport mode trunk' also works, and hard-coding trunk on both ends with nonegotiate is the usual production choice.
A core router at an insurance company carries hundreds of thousands of packets per second. An engineer needs to see the packets crossing a single interface, GigabitEthernet0/0/3, to diagnose an intermittent drop, and a colleague warns that a bare 'debug ip packet' on this router once drove the CPU to 100 percent. Which approach lets the engineer run the debug safely?
Correct. Conditional debugging restricts debug output to packets that match a condition such as an interface, an IP address, a MAC address or a VRF. 'debug condition interface Gi0/0/3' followed by the debug command means the router evaluates and prints only traffic on that interface, which keeps the CPU cost manageable. 'show debug condition' lists the active conditions, and removing the last condition can suddenly widen the output, so clear the debug first with 'undebug all'.
Every one of the 50 questions works this way: an explanation for the right answer and for the one you picked, so a wrong answer teaches you something. Questions last reviewed against the current Cisco CCNP Enterprise Core (ENCOR 350-401) objectives.
Quick answers about the test, the Cisco CCNP Enterprise Core (ENCOR 350-401) exam, and how to prepare.
Yes. Training Camp's CCNP ENCOR practice test is completely free. You get 50 exam-style questions across all six Cisco CCNP Enterprise Core (ENCOR 350-401) domains, with a written explanation for every answer choice.
It is 50 multiple-choice questions drawn from all six ENCOR 350-401 v1.2 domains, with an instant explanation after each answer and a 60-minute timer set to a realistic pace for the 120-minute real exam. You can retake it as often as you want. It is a readiness check, not a substitute for full preparation.
Cisco does not publish a question count for the ENCOR 350-401 exam, and the count can differ from one delivery to the next. The time limit is 120 minutes, and the exam includes multiple-choice, drag-and-drop and simulation-style items.
Cisco does not publish a fixed passing score for the ENCOR 350-401 exam, and passing scores are subject to change without notice. Aim to be consistently strong across all six domains rather than targeting a number.
The ENCOR 350-401 v1.2 exam topics cover six domains: Architecture (15%), Virtualization (10%), Infrastructure (30%), Network Assurance (10%), Security (20%), and Automation and Artificial Intelligence (15%). Infrastructure is the largest and the most hands-on.
Not as its own domain. The current v1.2 exam topics dropped the dedicated wireless section that earlier versions carried, so this practice test follows v1.2 and does not include wireless questions. Check Cisco's current exam topics if you also need wireless coverage for another certification.
ENCOR 350-401 is the core exam for CCNP Enterprise, which you complete with one concentration exam such as ENARSI 300-410, and it is the qualifying exam for the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure lab. Passing ENCOR alone earns the Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Core badge, and the certification is valid for three years.
Work through the official 350-401 v1.2 exam topics, get lab time on OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VRFs and the assurance tools, and use practice questions to find weak domains. For a structured path, our accelerated CCNP Enterprise Boot Camp covers ENCOR and ENARSI with an exam voucher included.
