Anycast RP is a multicast network configuration in which multiple Rendezvous Points (RPs) in a PIM domain share the same IP address, so sources and receivers reach the topologically nearest RP. Combined with MSDP to synchronize source state between the RPs, it provides RP redundancy, scalability, and load sharing while improving multicast reliability.
