Understanding Open Policy Agent (OPA)

Open Policy Agent OPA is an open-source, general-purpose policy engine that decouples authorization and policy decisions from application code. Policies are written in its declarative Rego language and evaluated against JSON input to return allow or deny decisions for use cases such as Kubernetes admission control, microservice authorization, and infrastructure compliance. OPA Gatekeeper integrates OPA with Kubernetes as an admission controller, and the project is a graduated CNCF effort.
