Understanding Pod Security Standards

Pod Security Standards are a set of three predefined security policies in Kubernetes, Privileged, Baseline, and Restricted, that define cumulative restrictions on the security-sensitive aspects of pod configuration. They replaced the deprecated PodSecurityPolicy and are enforced by the built-in Pod Security Admission controller at the namespace level. The Privileged profile is unrestricted, Baseline blocks known privilege escalations, and Restricted enforces hardened best practices such as running as non-root and dropping Linux capabilities.
