Policy Plane Definition: The Policy Plane in cybersecurity is responsible for enforcing rules and policies that determine how data packets are forwarded within a network.
Policy Plane is the component of a networking device or system that is responsible for managing and enforcing security policies and rules. It controls access control lists (ACLs), firewall rules, and other security configurations to ensure that network traffic is restricted according to defined security policies. The Policy Plane works in conjunction with the Control Plane and Data Plane to ensure that network traffic is handled securely and efficiently.
