Tunnel Mode Definition: Tunnel Mode is a method of VPN operation where the entire original IP packet is encapsulated within a new packet for secure transmission across an untrusted network.
Tunnel Mode is a method used in Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to encapsulate the entire original IP packet within a new IP packet. This new IP packet contains a different header, allowing the original packet to be securely transmitted over an untrusted network. Tunnel Mode provides end-to-end encryption and confidentiality for the data being transmitted between two secure endpoints.
