Training Camp Offers Accelerated Learning Course for Apple Certified Help Desk Specialist
PHILADELPHIA — September 2007 — Training Camp has added an accelerated boot camp for the Apple Certified Help Desk Specialist (ACHDS) certification, giving support professionals a fast route to a credential built around troubleshooting and supporting Mac systems.
Apple hardware was turning up in more workplaces that had run almost entirely on Windows, and the help desks fielding those tickets often had little formal Mac training. The ACHDS credential validated exactly that skill set, diagnosing and resolving problems on Mac OS X, walking a user through a fix, and knowing when an issue belonged to the software, the hardware, or the person at the keyboard. For a support technician, it was a way to prove competence on a platform an employer had suddenly started asking them to cover.
Training Camp built the course in its usual format, a short and focused stretch of instructor-led sessions and hands-on lab work rather than a manual to grind through alone over weeks. Technicians left having actually performed the support and troubleshooting tasks the exam covers instead of only reading about them. The program fit help desk and desktop support staff who needed to add Mac support to the Windows work they already handled.
