Training Camp Delivers Custom ITIL 4 Bridge Program

TREVOSE, Pa. — June 2023 — Training Camp delivered a custom ITIL 4 bridge program that moved an organization’s ITIL v3-certified staff onto the current framework in a tailored, accelerated format.

ITIL 4 marked a real departure from the version 3 that many IT service-management professionals had trained on years earlier. The update shifted the emphasis toward flexibility, value, and the way service management fits with modern practices like Agile and DevOps. For staff certified under the older scheme, a bridge path existed specifically to carry their prior knowledge forward without starting over. Axelos, the body behind ITIL at the time, had designed the transition route so certified professionals would not have to sit the full certification path again.

The challenge for a team, rather than an individual, is consistency. When a group holds the older certification, an organization often wants everyone moved to the new framework together, speaking the same vocabulary. A custom program answered that. Training Camp shaped the content around the group’s existing background and the pieces of ITIL 4 that mattered most to how they worked. Standardizing the vocabulary across a department reduces the friction that creeps in when people describe the same process in different terms.

Delivered in an accelerated format, the program respected that these were already-certified professionals, not beginners. That let the sessions skip the groundwork and concentrate on what genuinely changed between versions, which is where bridge training earns its keep.
