Training Camp Recognized Among Top-Volume (ISC)² Official Training Providers
PHILADELPHIA — January 2011 — Training Camp was recognized by (ISC)² for its training volume, named among the official providers that prepared the most candidates for (ISC)² certifications in North America.
The recognition was a measure of activity rather than a competitive prize, a count of how many security professionals moved through Training Camp’s classrooms over the year. Most of that volume came from the CISSP, long the flagship (ISC)² credential and one of the most widely requested security certifications among employers and government agencies. Part of that demand traced back to the U.S. Department of Defense, which had named the CISSP among the certifications acceptable for certain information assurance roles and pushed many professionals toward it.
Training Camp had run CISSP boot camps for years as an official (ISC)² provider, alongside other (ISC)² certifications. The company delivered the training in an intensive, in-person format built around the (ISC)² common body of knowledge, with candidates working through the domains over consecutive days with certified instructors and sitting the exam rather than preparing alone over months. Because those classes ran on a set schedule and a fixed number of days, a steady stream of candidates could get through them without the drawn-out self-study the exam usually demanded.
“This came down to how many security professionals we helped prepare that year, and that is the number we care about,” said Chris Porter, Chief Executive Officer. “The CISSP did most of the work. It is the credential our students asked for more than any other.”
Demand for CISSP-certified staff kept climbing through the early 2010s, driven by employer requirements and government mandates that named the credential directly.
