Training Camp Promotes Mark Sabo to Director of Education Services
PHILADELPHIA — January 2015 — Training Camp has promoted Mark Sabo to Director of Education Services, handing a veteran of technical training and IT the job of shaping how the company builds and delivers its certification courses.
Sabo brings a long background on both sides of the classroom, years spent working in IT and years spent teaching it. That combination is rarer than it sounds. Plenty of instructors know the material cold but have never run the systems in production, and plenty of practitioners can do the work but struggle to explain it to a room. Sabo has done both, which is part of what made him a natural fit to lead the group responsible for course quality across Training Camp’s catalog.
In the role he oversees education services, from the development and upkeep of courseware to the standards instructors teach to and the steady work of keeping certification content current as vendors revise their exams. It is quiet work that students never see directly, yet it shows up in every well-run class.
“Mark has spent years on both the technical and the teaching side, and it shows in how he runs a room,” said Jeff Porch, Vice President of Education Services at Training Camp. “He knows the material cold, but what really sets him apart is that he cares whether people walk out able to use it, not just pass the exam. He earned this one, and I think our students are the ones who come out ahead.”
Sabo’s promotion reflects Training Camp’s continued investment in the quality of its instruction as its certification catalog expands across security, networking, and IT disciplines.
