Built for system administrators, cloud operators, and IT professionals who deploy and run workloads on AWS and want the CloudOps Engineer Associate credential without weeks of self-study.
The AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer Associate, formerly the SysOps Administrator Associate, tests whether you can deploy, manage, and operate workloads on AWS. This three-day boot camp follows the official Cloud Operations on AWS course: access management, system discovery, deployment with AMIs, AWS Control Tower, and CloudFormation, Systems Manager, high availability with Elastic Load Balancing and Route 53, CloudWatch monitoring, VPC networking, EBS and S3 storage, and cost management. Six hands-on labs put each topic into practice, and the $150 exam voucher is included.
This class uses the official Cloud Operations on AWS courseware, delivered by AWS-authorized instructors. Its 14 modules track the services the SOA-C03 exam guide names, from IAM and Systems Manager to CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and AWS Backup.
Your $150 SOA-C03 exam voucher is included with enrollment. Sit the exam on Wednesday, the last day of class, or schedule it later at a Pearson VUE testing center or online with a proctor. Nothing extra to buy, no surprise cost.
Six hands-on labs run inside the course: auditing resources with Systems Manager and AWS Config, infrastructure as code, operations as code, monitoring applications and infrastructure, automating with AWS Backup, and a capstone lab that ties CloudOps together.
Immersive classroom instruction with direct instructor access, hands-on labs and peer collaboration.
The same instructors and curriculum, delivered live from anywhere on our virtual learning platform.

The AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer Associate (SOA-C03) is issued by AWS and was formerly the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate. It validates that you can deploy, manage, and operate workloads on AWS. This AWS CloudOps training prepares you for it.
The class runs three full days live online with an AWS-authorized instructor. You work through the 14 modules of the official Cloud Operations on AWS course, complete six hands-on labs, and can sit the SOA-C03 exam on the last day.
Each day includes hands-on labs from the official course. You audit resources with Systems Manager and AWS Config, deploy infrastructure as code, run operations as code, monitor applications and infrastructure, automate archiving and recovery with AWS Backup, and finish with a capstone lab.
The exam has five domains: monitoring, logging, analysis, remediation, and performance optimization (22%), reliability and business continuity (22%), deployment, provisioning, and automation (22%), security and compliance (16%), and networking and content delivery (18%). The course modules map to each one.
You automate resource deployment with AWS CloudFormation and AWS Service Catalog, manage fleets with AWS Systems Manager, and automate incident remediation. The Operations as Code lab has you run those tasks yourself, the way the exam and the job expect.
If you want another pass at the material, you may retake the class at no cost within one year of your original session. After class, post-class mentoring gives you a way to ask questions while you finish preparing for the SOA-C03.
A structured path designed for working professionals.
Each day builds on the last—momentum is everything.
Accelerated, hands-on learning to get you upskilled, AWS CloudOps Engineer certified, and back to work.
The credential, the capability, and the continued readiness — all in one boot camp.
Real questions from real professionals who passed.
Here's
how we answer them.
The AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer Associate (SOA-C03) is an associate-level certification issued by AWS that validates your ability to deploy, manage, and operate workloads on AWS. It was formerly the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate, and anyone who passes SOA-C03 earns the new title. It is built for system administrators and cloud operators, and this AWS CloudOps training follows the official AWS course for that role.
The class runs three full days, delivered live online by an AWS-authorized instructor using official AWS courseware. Each day combines lecture with hands-on labs, following the 14 modules of the Cloud Operations on AWS course from access management through cost optimization. The exam voucher is included, so you can sit the SOA-C03 on Wednesday, the last day, or schedule it later.
Yes. Your enrollment includes the $150 AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer Associate (SOA-C03) exam voucher, along with official AWS courseware, study labs, exam prep questions, and a mock exam. You can take the exam on the last day of class or schedule it later at a Pearson VUE testing center or online with a proctor.
The SOA-C03 exam is 130 minutes long and has 65 questions, of which 50 are scored and 15 are unscored. Questions are multiple choice and multiple response. Results are reported as a scaled score from 100 to 1,000, and the minimum passing score is 720. The exam covers five domains, each weighted between 16% and 22%.
AWS recommends about 1 year of experience deploying, managing, and operating workloads on AWS, plus a background in systems administration or software development. You should be comfortable at the command line, whether shell scripting in Linux or PowerShell in Windows, and know basic networking protocols such as TCP/IP and HTTP. If you have no IT experience, AWS suggests earning the Cloud Practitioner first.
This AWS CloudOps training is for system administrators and operators who run workloads in the AWS Cloud, and for IT professionals who want to build cloud operations skills. It also fits anyone who was planning to earn the SysOps Administrator Associate, since SOA-C03 is the same exam track under its new CloudOps Engineer name.
The course includes six hands-on labs from the official AWS curriculum: auditing AWS resources with AWS Systems Manager and AWS Config, infrastructure as code, operations as code, monitoring applications and infrastructure, automating with AWS Backup for archiving and recovery, and a capstone lab for CloudOps. Each lab runs in a live AWS environment and follows the module it reinforces.
Take the CloudOps Engineer Associate if you run and automate AWS environments, and the Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C03) if you design them. Both are associate-level exams that run 130 minutes and cost $150. The Solutions Architect exam focuses on architecture design decisions, while SOA-C03 focuses on deployment, monitoring, remediation, and day-to-day operations. Many engineers earn both.
The certification is valid for 3 years from the date you pass. To recertify, pass the current version of the SOA-C03 exam before your certification expires. AWS publishes its recertification options on the AWS Certification site, so check the current rules there when you plan your renewal, since the exam version and timing can change.
No. AWS certifications, including the CloudOps Engineer Associate, are not listed on the DoD 8140 Approved Qualifications Matrix. If you need a credential for a DoD 8140 work role, check the current Approved Qualifications Matrix for that role before choosing an exam. The certification remains useful for cloud operations work inside and outside government.
You may retake the class at no cost within one year of your original session, then attempt the exam again. Your enrollment includes one $150 exam voucher, and a second exam attempt is at your own cost unless stated otherwise in your enrollment. The free course retake is a good way to review the weaker domains from your score report before you rebook.
Many certifying bodies accept vendor training hours toward continuing education requirements, and a three-day instructor-led class on official AWS courseware often qualifies. Requirements differ by organization, so check with your certifying body on how it counts training hours and what documentation it needs before you submit the class.
The AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional is the usual next step after the CloudOps Engineer Associate, since it builds on the same deployment, automation, and monitoring skills at a professional level. If you want to broaden rather than deepen, the Solutions Architect Associate adds design skills, and the Security Specialty covers AWS security in depth.
