Agentic AI Definition: Agentic AI is AI that autonomously plans, decides, and takes multi-step actions toward goals using tools and APIs, raising new cybersecurity risks.
Agentic AI refers to AI systems that can autonomously plan, make decisions, and take multi-step actions toward a goal with minimal human intervention, often by chaining tool calls, querying data, and reacting to feedback. Unlike a single-turn model, an agentic system pursues objectives over time and can invoke external tools, APIs, and other agents. In security, agentic AI both powers autonomous defenders (e.g., SOC automation) and introduces new risks such as goal manipulation, excessive permissions, and prompt injection across tool chains.
