AH (Authentication Header) is a protocol used in IPSec (Internet Protocol Security) for providing data origin authentication and connectionless integrity verification. It does this by adding a header to the IP packet which includes a cryptographic hash of the entire packet, ensuring that the data has not been altered in transit and that it originates from the claimed source.
