Attack Path Definition: An attack path is the chained sequence of steps an adversary follows from initial access to a target asset to prioritize remediation.
An attack path is the chained sequence of steps, vulnerabilities, and exploitable relationships an adversary traverses from an initial foothold to a high-value target asset. Attack path analysis maps these routes, often as a graph, to reveal choke points where a single fix can break multiple paths. This lets defenders prioritize remediation by real exploitability rather than isolated vulnerability scores.
