Backdoor Definition: Method to bypass security and gain unauthorized system access
A backdoor is a method by which users are able to bypass normal security measures and gain high-level access on a computer system, network, or software application. Backdoors may exist due to developers intentionally creating them during development, improper system configuration, or malware infection. They represent a major security risk as they allow attackers to access systems while remaining undetected by normal security measures.
