Enumeration is the process of systematically probing a target to discover information about user accounts, network shares, services, and other resources. Attackers often use enumeration to map an organization's infrastructure, identify potential vulnerabilities, and plan further attacks. Defensive measures include restricting anonymous access, monitoring suspicious queries, and implementing robust authentication policies.
