Evil Twin Definition: An evil twin is a rogue Wi-Fi access point that appears to be a legitimate one, set up to eavesdrop on wireless communications or deceive users into connecting to it instead of the real access point.
An Evil Twin is a type of rogue wireless access point that appears as a legitimate hotspot but is set up by an attacker to intercept sensitive information such as login credentials or personal data from unsuspecting users. This malicious network deceptively mimics a real Wi-Fi network to trick users into connecting to it, allowing the attacker to perform various cyber attacks, including Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks and data interception.
