Understanding Infostealer

An infostealer is a category of malware designed to silently harvest sensitive data from an infected host, including saved browser credentials, session cookies, autofill data, cryptocurrency wallets, and form submissions. Stolen data is typically exfiltrated to a command-and-control server and sold or used for follow-on account takeover and fraud; well-known families include RedLine, Raccoon, and Vidar.
