An OSPF Area is a logical grouping of network infrastructure within an Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing domain to optimize network management and reduce routing table size.
OSPF Area Definition: An OSPF Area is a logical grouping of network infrastructure within an Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing domain to optimize network management and reduce routing table size.
OSPF Area: In Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing protocol, an OSPF area is a logical grouping of routers and networks within an OSPF autonomous system, allowing for scalability and segmentation of routing information. Areas are used to contain the database of network information, reduce routing overhead, and control the propagation of routing information. OSPF areas are connected through Area Border Routers (ABRs) which maintain routing information between different areas.
