Understanding PAgP

PAgP (Port Aggregation Protocol) is a Cisco proprietary protocol that is used for the automatic bundling of multiple physical ports into a single logical channel. This technology allows for increased bandwidth, improved redundancy, and enhanced load balancing in network configurations. PAgP facilitates the formation of EtherChannels (link aggregation groups) by negotiating with corresponding ports on the neighboring device to determine if channel grouping is feasible and to establish the necessary parameters for the link aggregation.
