Understanding RIPng

RIPng, or Routing Information Protocol Next Generation, is a distance-vector routing protocol used in IPv6 networks to distribute routing information among routers. It is an enhancement of the original RIP protocol designed to support the larger address space of IPv6. RIPng operates by exchanging routing tables with neighboring routers and calculating the best path to a destination based on hop count.
