STP Root Bridge Definition: STP Root Bridge is the bridge in a Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) network that serves as the reference point for determining the shortest path to all other bridges in the network.
STP Root Bridge is a designated bridge within a Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) network that acts as the central point for determining the topology of the network. It is responsible for receiving and processing Bridge Protocol Data Units (BPDU) and ensuring the network's stability by selecting the best path for data transmission and avoiding loops within the network. The Root Bridge is chosen based on the lowest Bridge ID, which is a combination of the bridge's priority value and MAC address.
