Variable Length Subnet Masking (VLSM) is a technique that allows subnet masks to have different lengths within the same network address space, enabling more efficient use of IP addresses.
VLSM Definition: Variable Length Subnet Masking (VLSM) is a technique that allows subnet masks to have different lengths within the same network address space, enabling more efficient use of IP addresses.
VLSM, or Variable Length Subnet Masking, is a networking technique that allows for the creation of subnets with varying sizes, as opposed to traditional subnetting which requires all subnets to be of equal size. VLSM enables more efficient use of IP address space by allocating different numbers of IP addresses to subnets based on their individual needs.
