VXLAN Definition: VXLAN (Virtual Extensible LAN) is a network virtualization technology used to extend Layer 2 segments over Layer 3 networks, enabling scalable and multi-tenant cloud environments.
VXLAN (Virtual Extensible LAN) is a Layer 2 overlay network technology that uses a MAC-in-UDP encapsulation approach to provide a virtualized network, allowing the creation of logical Layer 2 domains over an underlying Layer 3 network. VXLAN helps in scaling virtualized network environments by extending the capacity of VLANs beyond the conventional 4,096 limit, making it suitable for large cloud deployments and data center networks.
