Three full days of live, instructor-led Terraform Azure training built around the eight HashiCorp Terraform Associate exam objectives. Every lab runs against real Azure resources, from a virtual network and a Windows VM to remote state and Key Vault.
Course Retake Included
Every Lab in Azure
Three days for DevOps engineers, cloud and system administrators, developers, and network engineers who manage Azure and want to define it as code, then sit the Terraform Associate exam with confidence.
The Terraform Associate exam covers infrastructure as code concepts, the core workflow, modules, state, and configuration. This three-day boot camp teaches the same eight objectives with every lab in Azure. You install Terraform, put your code under version control, then write HCL that builds a virtual network and a Windows VM. You work with variables, tfvars files, functions, for_each loops, dynamic blocks, and modules, store state in Azure, and connect managed identities to Key Vault. The class ends with a study guide review and a certification project.
Every lecture and lab maps to the eight objectives HashiCorp publishes for the Terraform Associate (004) exam, from infrastructure as code concepts and the core workflow through configuration, modules, and state management, all practiced against Azure.
You cover the same eight Terraform Associate objectives as the provider-neutral Terraform Essentials class, but every exercise runs in an Azure subscription. You build a virtual network, create a Windows VM, and store state in Azure instead of a generic sandbox.
Labs build working Azure infrastructure with Terraform: a virtual network, a Windows VM provisioned from tfvars files, Azure Verified Modules, remote state stored in Azure, and managed identities reading secrets from Key Vault. You also troubleshoot a broken module before the certification project.
Immersive classroom instruction with direct instructor access, hands-on labs and peer collaboration.
The same instructors and curriculum, delivered live from anywhere on our virtual learning platform.
Working across more than one cloud? Take Terraform Essentials.
Every lab in this class runs in Azure. If you deploy to AWS or Google Cloud as well, or have not settled on a provider, the 3-day Terraform Essentials class covers the same eight Terraform Associate objectives with labs across all three.

HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (004) is issued by HashiCorp and tests infrastructure as code concepts, the core Terraform workflow, modules, state, and configuration on Terraform 1.12. This Terraform Azure training covers all eight exam objectives with Azure as the target.
Three full days of live online, instructor-led training. Each day pairs lecture with hands-on labs in Azure, and the class closes with a HashiCorp study guide review and a certification project that ties the whole workflow together.
You install Terraform, put your code in GitHub, then write HCL that builds a virtual network and a Windows VM, provisions dynamically from tfvars files, uses Azure Verified Modules, stores state in Azure, and connects managed identities to Key Vault.
HashiCorp organizes the exam into eight objectives: Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Terraform fundamentals, core Terraform workflow, Terraform configuration, Terraform modules, Terraform state management, maintain infrastructure with Terraform, and HCP Terraform. The class covers every item on that list, with Azure as the working environment.
Azure teams standardize on Terraform because the same HCL, tfvars files, workspaces, and modules deploy development, test, and production the same way. Remote state in Azure and managed identities keep those environments consistent, repeatable, and reviewable.
You may retake the class at no cost within one year of your original session. Post-class mentoring lets you ask an instructor questions while you finish preparing for the Terraform Associate exam.
A structured path designed for working professionals.
Each day builds on the last—momentum is everything.
Accelerated, hands-on learning to get you upskilled, Terraform Associate certified, and back to work.
The credential, the capability, and the continued readiness — all in one boot camp.
Real questions from real professionals who passed.
Here's
how we answer them.
HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (004) is the Terraform certification issued by HashiCorp. It is a 1-hour, online proctored, multiple-choice exam that tests Terraform 1.12 across eight objectives, from infrastructure as code concepts and the core workflow through modules, state management, and HCP Terraform. Terraform Azure training that puts you in an Azure subscription every day prepares you for the exam and for the job.
The class runs three full days, delivered live online by an instructor. Each day combines lecture with hands-on labs in Azure, moving from Terraform install and HCL syntax through virtual networks, virtual machines, modules, remote state, and managed identities. The final afternoon covers the HashiCorp study guide and a certification project that ties the workflow together.
No. The Terraform Associate exam is purchased separately from HashiCorp for $70.50 plus applicable taxes, and you schedule it yourself on the HashiCorp certification site as an online proctored exam. HashiCorp does not include a retake in that price. Tuition covers the three-day class, courseware, the hands-on Azure lab environment, and post-class mentoring, and Training Camp includes a free course retake within one year.
The Terraform Associate exam is 1 hour long, online proctored, and multiple choice. It tests Terraform 1.12 across the eight objectives HashiCorp publishes. HashiCorp does not publish the number of questions or the passing score, so plan to be solid on every objective rather than aiming for a threshold. This class covers all eight objectives with Azure as the working environment.
No. The hands-on lab environment is provided, and no Azure certification is required. An optional Azure account setup lab is on the Day 1 schedule, and the class starts with Terraform install, gitignore, and HCL syntax before building Azure resources, so you do not need prior Terraform experience either.
You should have basic terminal skills and an understanding of on-premises and cloud architecture, which are the prerequisites HashiCorp states for the Terraform Associate exam. Familiarity with Azure services such as virtual networks and virtual machines helps you follow the labs, but the class teaches Terraform from installation forward, so no prior Terraform experience is required.
Managing Azure with Terraform is for DevOps engineers, software developers, technical managers and leads, system and cloud administrators, and network engineers and developers who manage Azure infrastructure. It fits anyone who wants Terraform Azure training that builds real resources rather than reading about them, and anyone preparing for the Terraform Associate exam on the platform they use at work.
The labs build a virtual network, a Windows virtual machine provisioned dynamically from tfvars files, and resources deployed through Azure Verified Modules for Terraform. You also store Terraform state in Azure, work with Azure managed identities and Key Vault, pull data with data sources and the HTTP provider, and troubleshoot a broken module before the certification project.
Take Managing Azure with Terraform if your team has standardized on Azure, because every lab targets Azure resources, remote state in Azure, and managed identities with Key Vault. Take Terraform Essentials if you work across several cloud providers or have not chosen one yet. Both classes cover the same eight Terraform Associate exam objectives, so either one prepares you for the certification.
The Terraform Associate certification is valid for 2 years from the date you earn it. HashiCorp sets the renewal process, so check the Terraform Associate certification page for the current recertification options before your expiration date. Since the exam tests a specific Terraform release, currently 1.12, plan to recertify against the version in force at that time.
This class teaches the infrastructure as code layer that both Microsoft certifications expect you to work with. AZ-104 covers Azure administration through the portal and CLI, and AZ-400 covers DevOps pipelines. Managing Azure with Terraform shows you how to define the networks, virtual machines, identities, and state those tracks rely on in HCL, and it prepares you for the HashiCorp Terraform Associate exam, not a Microsoft exam.
You may use your free course retake to attend the class again within one year of your original session and work through the Azure labs a second time before your next attempt. HashiCorp does not include a retake with the exam, so a second attempt means purchasing another exam on the HashiCorp certification site. Post-class mentoring is also available while you prepare.
Usually, yes. Many certifying bodies accept vendor training hours toward continuing education requirements, and a three-day instructor-led class often qualifies. Requirements differ by organization, so check with your certifying body for how it counts training hours and what documentation it needs before you submit the class. Terraform Azure training is technical training, so it fits most technical CPE categories.
Terraform sits alongside the Microsoft certification track, so we gathered guides on Azure certifications, exam objectives documents, and continuing education requirements.
