Dynamic ARP Inspection DAI validates ARP packets against DHCP snooping bindings on switches to block ARP spoofing and man-in-the-middle attacks.
Dynamic ARP Inspection Definition: Dynamic ARP Inspection DAI validates ARP packets against DHCP snooping bindings on switches to block ARP spoofing and man-in-the-middle attacks.
Dynamic ARP Inspection DAI is a Layer 2 switch security feature that intercepts ARP requests and replies, validating them against a trusted IP-to-MAC binding table built from DHCP snooping or static entries. Packets with invalid or spoofed mappings are dropped, preventing ARP poisoning and man-in-the-middle attacks. DAI is typically deployed alongside DHCP snooping on access switches, with trusted ports configured for uplinks and DHCP servers.
