IEC 62443, the ISA/IEC standard series for industrial control system and OT cybersecurity, defines security levels, zones, and conduits.
IEC 62443 Definition: IEC 62443, the ISA/IEC standard series for industrial control system and OT cybersecurity, defines security levels, zones, and conduits.
IEC 62443, originally developed by ISA as ISA-99 and now maintained jointly as the ISA/IEC 62443 series, is a set of standards for the cybersecurity of industrial automation and control systems (IACS) and operational technology environments. It defines security requirements across roles including asset owners, system integrators, and product suppliers, and introduces concepts such as security levels (SL 1-4), zones, and conduits. The standard is widely applied in critical infrastructure and manufacturing to manage OT cyber risk.
