Understanding VLAN Hopping

VLAN hopping is a technique used by attackers to gain unauthorized access to network segments (VLANs) they are not supposed to access. It involves exploiting vulnerabilities in the VLAN configuration to send or receive traffic from a different VLAN, potentially granting access to sensitive information and resources. This can be achieved by manipulating switch trunking protocols, such as Double Tagging or Switch Spoofing, to deceive switches into forwarding traffic to an unintended VLAN.
