    CompTIA AutoOps+ (AT0-001) is a vendor-neutral certification that validates an IT professional’s ability to write code for automation, manage infrastructure as code (IaC), build CI pipelines, and deliver software continuously. CompTIA created AutoOps+ because automation is no longer a specialty — it is core infrastructure work. Manual sysadmin tasks have been replaced by scripts, configuration management tools, and CI/CD pipelines, and 37% of IT leaders cite DevOps and DevSecOps as the biggest technical skills gap on their teams. AutoOps+ certifies the modern skill set that ops, cloud, and infrastructure roles now require.

    CompTIA AutoOps+ launched June 2, 2026 under exam code AT0-001 (V1). A beta exam (AT1-001) closed January 30, 2026. AutoOps+ is the second certification in CompTIA’s Expansion Series, following SecAI+.

    AutoOps+ is part of CompTIA’s Expansion Series, which adds specialized skills on top of CompTIA’s core Plus (+) certifications rather than replacing them. AutoOps+ builds on Network+, Linux+, Cloud+, and Server+ by extending traditional infrastructure knowledge into scripting, automation, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines. It is designed for IT operations professionals who are moving into DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability roles.

    CompTIA recommends 2–3 years of experience in a core IT operations role such as network administrator, cloud administrator, or systems administrator. Recommended foundation certifications are Network+, Linux+, Cloud+, or Server+. AutoOps+ does not require prior software development experience, but familiarity with scripting (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) and version control (Git) is helpful.

    The AutoOps+ exam covers four domains. Domain 1 (31%) covers Automation Coding Concepts, including scripting logic, variables, loops, conditionals, version control, and error handling. Domain 2 (25%) covers System Configuration, including configuration management, drift detection, state management, infrastructure as code, and virtual network configuration (subnets, load balancers, firewalls, DNS). Domain 3 (24%) covers Continuous Integration, including CI pipelines, automated testing, build processes, and source control workflows. Domain 4 (20%) covers Continuous Delivery, including deployment automation, release strategies, rollback mechanisms, and secure delivery pipelines.

    The AutoOps+ exam has a maximum of 60 questions, mixing multiple-choice and performance-based questions, with a 60-minute time limit. The passing score is 600 on a scale of 100 to 900, and the exam voucher costs $298.

    AutoOps+ is complementary, not competitive, with Linux+, Cloud+, and Network+. The Plus (+) certifications validate the platform you administer; AutoOps+ validates how you automate that platform. Compared with vendor-specific DevOps certs like AWS DevOps Engineer or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, AutoOps+ is vendor-neutral, which makes it a strong fit for professionals working in hybrid or multi-cloud environments.

By 2027, Gartner estimates that 80% of organizations will incorporate a DevOps platform into their development toolchain, up from 25% in 2023. 81% of businesses have already begun adopting DevOps practices, and 29% of IT teams report DevOps engineer as their most recently hired role. AutoOps+ validates the scripting, IaC, and CI/CD skills employers are actively hiring for, and as a vendor-neutral certification, it transfers cleanly across employers and cloud platforms.
