No. C|AIPM is a business-led certification, not a technical one. It introduces AI, machine learning, and generative AI concepts so you understand what the technology can and cannot do, but the focus is leadership, governance, and decision-making. Familiarity with generative AI and prompt basics helps, but no programming background is required.

If you attend official EC-Council training, that is your qualifying path and the application fee is included in your course. If you sit the exam without training, you apply with at least two years of work experience in information security and pay a $100 application fee.

The exam code is 312-41. It has 100 multiple choice questions and a three hour time limit, delivered through the EC-Council exam portal with remote proctoring. EC-Council uses a variable cut score set per exam form, generally in the 60 to 85 percent range, to account for differences in question difficulty.
