No. C|AIPM is a business-led certification, not a technical one. It introduces AI, machine learning, and generative AI concepts so you understand what the technology can and cannot do, but the focus is leadership, governance, and decision-making. Familiarity with generative AI and prompt basics helps, but no programming background is required.

EC-Council recommends three years of IT or cybersecurity experience. If you attend official training, that is your qualifying path and the application fee is included in your course. If you sit the exam without training, you must apply with a minimum of two years of experience in an information security domain and pay a one hundred dollar application fee.

The exam code is 312-41. It has 100 multiple choice questions and a three hour time limit, delivered through the EC-Council exam portal with remote proctoring. EC-Council uses a variable cut score set per exam form, generally in the 60 to 85 percent range, to account for differences in question difficulty.
