Microsoft has not published a length for AB-650 yet, which is normal while an exam is in beta. Expect between 40 and 60 questions and a scaled score of 700 out of 1000 to pass, which is Microsoft’s standard for role-based exams. We confirm the timing with you before you book.

Yes. Microsoft launched it as a beta exam, which means scoring is held until the exam reaches general availability and Microsoft’s own free practice assessment is not out yet. Our practice material is written in-house from the published skills outline, so it is available to you either way. Ask us where the exam stands before you book.
MS-102 and the Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert credential both retire on 30 November 2026, and Microsoft has not named a direct successor. AB-650 is the Microsoft 365 administration credential Microsoft is shipping now. It covers much of the same tenant, identity, Defender and Purview ground, and adds Copilot and agent administration on top.
Microsoft 365 administrators, tenant administrators and collaboration admins who have been handed Copilot, agents or both and are now answerable for readiness, oversharing and cost.
Microsoft enforces no prerequisite certification. The exam does assume experience with Microsoft 365 workloads and Entra ID, an understanding of Defender XDR, and familiarity with Purview.
AB-900 is the fundamentals exam for Microsoft 365 and AI administration, and AB-620 is about building integrated agent solutions in Copilot Studio. AB-650 is the administration credential between them: running Copilot and agents safely in a production tenant rather than introducing them or building them.
