The CISSP exam really, really sucks.

You may not have to be. The same course also runs as a two-week evening format, 5pm to 9pm EST, so you keep your workday and train after it.

Onsite testing comes out of our partnership standing with ISC2 and Pearson VUE. It is not available at every location, so confirm it for the class you are considering.

Not in the way most people assume. On April 2, 2026, ISC2 published its Exam Guidance for Artificial Intelligence, which maps where AI security concepts already appear across more than 50 exam domains in its certification portfolio.

There is no new AI domain and no ninth domain on the CISSP. AI concepts are woven into the domains you already study: Security and Risk Management, Asset Security, Security Architecture and Engineering, Communication and Network Security, Security Assessment and Testing, Security Operations, and Software Development Security.

What that means in practice: expect scenarios where the system being secured is an AI system. The judgment the exam tests has not changed. The technology in the question has.

The exam is computerized adaptive testing. You get 100 to 150 questions in a maximum of 3 hours, and you need a scaled score of 700 out of 1000 to pass. Since April 2024 every language sits the CAT format, so the old 250 item, 6 hour linear exam is retired.

Adaptive means the exam adjusts to you. Answer well and the questions get harder. It ends as soon as the algorithm is confident about your ability, which can be as early as question 100. Up to 25 of the items are unscored pretest questions and you cannot tell which ones.

It will feel difficult the entire time. That is the format working correctly, not a signal that you are failing. We prepare you for that specifically.

This is the single most common pattern we see in people who are close to passing. You are not missing knowledge. You are missing strategy.

The CISSP does not just test facts, it tests judgment. It asks which approach a leader should implement FIRST. You know the material. We teach you how the exam thinks.

The CISSP runs on a three-year cycle. You earn Continuing Professional Education credits across those three years, with a minimum required each year, and you pay an annual maintenance fee to ISC2.

Most of what you already do counts. Conference attendance, webinars, reading, volunteering, and further training all earn credits.
